Choosing child care is one of the most important decisions families make, but
all too often they must rely on word-of-mouth. The Rockingham County Partnership
for Children’s Child Care Resource and Referral helps parents take the guesswork
out of choosing care by educating them about how to choose a quality child care
program. The Parent Counselor informs parents about local child care providers,
state licensing requirements, availability of child care subsidies, and links
to other resources. Our CCR&R provides guidance by phone, in person, and in
other ways that are tailored to each individual family.

By talking with parents one-on-one, our CCR&R parent counselor gains an understanding
of the delicate balance of family life and they know that finding high-quality
child care is just a first step to raising happy, healthy children. Through workshops,
telephone conversations and newsletters, our CCR&R reaches out to parents
with trusted, local information that enables them to make informed choices.
